State your business at the desk. The sergeant will pretend not to listen. Below: the matters the desk is asked about most, and how to reach a human when the desk cannot help.
%APPDATA%\Duty Guvnor\saves, on
Linux and Steam Deck under ~/.config/Duty Guvnor/saves.
The first desktop run adopts any career it finds this browser left
behind on the same machine.A WEEK FROM HELL — seven consecutive nights worked as one posting, with one letter from the Commissioner at the end: three EXEMPLARY nights make Chief Inspector, anything less survived is retained in post, and a career ended mid-week is dismissed the Force. Steam desktop build only; the web keeps single nights. A week in progress can be abandoned from the parade sheet; abandoning it scraps its nights and anything it had on the hook.
A night can be put down mid-shift from the board and picked up later from the parade sheet. One night on the hook at a time; picking it up consumes it, booking on fresh scraps it, and the daily shift — being everyone's same night — cannot be put down.
Browsers hold all audio until you have touched the page — book on duty and the set warms up. If it stays silent, check the tab is not muted and that reduced-motion/auto-mute extensions are not sitting on it.
There is no button that burns the file — careers are meant to be carried. If you must: in the browser, clear site data for this site; on Steam, delete the files in the saves folder above (and turn Steam Cloud off for the game first, or it will politely put them back).
Write to the desk with: what happened, what you expected, the device
and browser (or Steam/OS), and the build stamp from the bottom of the
game page (it reads like build a1b2c3d). A screenshot earns
a nod from the sergeant.

Enquiries are answered as the night allows. No accounts exist, nothing is
collected, and nothing leaves your machine except what Steam Cloud carries
for you.
